Damien's Page

Damien aka Wil Dumaop is a lifelong student of music and technology. He attended and graduated from the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts (PCPA) as a Theater Acting major. After school, he went into a sound design internship at Playhouse Merced where he fell in love with mixing. After a short stint as a musical theater actor and sound designer, he rechanneled his creative energy towards DJing under the monikers Lo-Pass and Holez. He used to host "Drum n Bass to Melt Your Face" on the now defunct ECQ Gaming Radio. Shortly after discovering the darkness within the music that moves him, he adopted the DJ moniker of Damien as an homage to the greatest religious thriller of all time, The Omen. As a proud member of DJTechtools.com, he has forgone the conventional vinyl setup in favour of MIDI controllers and software. Using Native Instruments' Traktor he has been discovering new ways to manipulate sound that, up until recently, were thought impossible to do in a live setting. Aside from DJing and producing, Damien works as the US liason for Real Big Groove Promotions out of Wellington, NZ as well as marketing for Vital Signz Productions and Management in Los Angeles. His undying work ethic, aggressive mixing style, and precision use of glitch have earned him gigs on both sides of the Pacific Ocean; in the SoCal areas as well as the North Island of New Zealand. Whether it be Neurofunk, Tech-Step, Electro, Fidget, Gash, or Jungle, the one thing that remains consistent in each style he plays is the darkness.
